How parent coaching fits into your child’s care

BrightLife Kids offers preventive and early mental health support for families before challenges grow into something bigger. We work with parents, particularly when the child is younger, as well as working directly with children. It focuses on building everyday skills to help families navigate common concerns like:

  • Worry

  • Sadness

  • Big emotions and tantrums

  • Sleep struggles

  • Attention or focus challenges

  • Developmental milestones

  • Relationship stress at school and home

Parent coaching is one way we support your child’s care. Through behavioral health coaching, caregivers gain practical tools, grow confidence, and create positive, everyday patterns at home that support their child’s emotional growth.

Not sure what kind of support your child needs right now? Our coaches and coach specialists are here to help. They’ll thoughtfully assess your child’s needs and guide you toward the best next step. And if a higher level of care would be more helpful, we’ll support you in getting connected so you’re never navigating it alone.

What happens during coaching

What coaching sessions are like

  • 25-30 minutes long

  • Virtual

  • Every week to start

Early on, you and your coach will:

  • Get to know each other and build a rapport

  • Get clear on what’s feeling hardest right now

  • Identify goals that feel realistic and meaningful

  • Create a shared plan for how coaching will support your family

Over time, sessions focus on:

  • Learning and practicing tools you can use at home

  • Checking in on what’s working and what needs adjusting

  • Building confidence as challenges feel more manageable

Progress looks different for every family. As sessions continue, you might start to feel a little more supported and steady even if the challenges haven’t completely disappeared.

Parent involvement is essential

Coaching at BrightLife Kids is designed with the understanding that parents are a key part of change, especially for younger children. This doesn’t mean more pressure or blame. It means:

  • Parents are supported, not judged

  • Coaching focuses on what’s realistic for your family

  • Tools are designed to fit real life, not perfection

For older kids, coaching may include more direct involvement with your child but caregivers remain an important partner throughout. Learn more about how coaches adapt to the age of your child.

In addition to live 1-on-1 coaching, you’ll get:
