# What challenges are you seeing in your child?

Kids change quickly. But one thing remains steady: getting support when you need it is always a good thing. As your child grows, you’ll come to recognize that some phases are longer than others. And some put the whole family in uncharted territory.

Maybe you’re looking for the right boundaries to create around social media and screens. You might be curious about better ways to communicate as a family or how to find support for a neurodiverse child. Identity, development, and everything else that comes along with the preteen years can make caregivers feel like they’re never saying the right thing. From the moment you wake up to the bedtime routine, we’re here for you.

## Big emotions & behavior

Everyone feels big emotions. And those feelings can lead to big, noisy behaviors whether you’re a wailing newborn or an adult. The first trick is understanding what can trigger the outbursts, tantrums, and meltdowns. The second is learning how to manage them calmly. We’re here to help with things anxiety, sadness, stress, and more.

## Internet safety

If your child can get online, they can be exposed to all kinds of learning, connections, and silly videos. They can also see a lot of scary things. Algorithms can send them to pages you never meant for them to see and fake accounts are everywhere. Keeping your child safe and your family’s information private are important. We can help you set comfortable, age-appropriate boundaries for your child. A coach can also help when it comes to cyberbullying, general internet safety, screen time, and so much more.

## Family & parenting

Life tends to throw all kinds of things at caregivers. You made it out the door on time to only to remember a near-empty gas tank. Breakfast done, shoes on, dog ate the trash. Bedtime went great but your child woke up with another nightmare. You can handle it all, but it’s going to take patience — and support. When it comes to talking about healthy family communication, divorce, managing grief, and more, we can help.

## Identity & development

As your child grows, their identity unfolds. Along the way, you might face some situations that you’re not sure how to respond to. What you say and do depends on your child and their unique gender, ethnic, and sexual identity process. One, love and advocate for your child, just as they are. Two, stay curious and open. And three, surround yourself with the support of people who have been through this before. Our coaches are here to demystify gender identity, racial identity, sex & dating, and more.

## Neurodiversity & other differences

Neurodiversity can be a superpower. It can also come with some challenges. And for caregivers who are navigating it for the first time, it can be a lot to learn. Having a coach on your side can help you parent your neurodiverse child in a way that works for their brain and the way it processes the world. If you’re raising a child who needs support with focus and attention, symptoms of ADHD or autism, or other neurodiversity challenges, coaching can help.

## School & social skills

Believe it or not, it takes practice for a child to know how to make friends and participate at school. Every child is different, which means each learns in a unique way. For some, showing up at school might be easy, but asking someone to play can feel hard. Other kids can chat all day, and have a harder time speaking up in class. For support with emotional skills, organizational skills, and so much more, turn to BrightLife Kids.

## Sleeping & eating

Getting good rest is important for everyone, no matter the age. So is fueling the body with nutritious foods. But for kids, sleep can be hard to come by, especially during growth spurts or stressful times. And anyone with a tricky eater knows that eating a variety of healthy foods each day can be a struggle. For ideas on bedtime routines that work, introducing new foods, balanced nutrition for growing bodies, and more, turn to BrightLife Kids.
