## More about Kiel

- **What experience do you have working with families?**

I have extensive experience supporting kids, adolescents, and families through my work as a behavioral health coach, outpatient mental health therapist, and guidance consultant. I partner with caregivers to better understand their child’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs while providing practical strategies they can use at home. I believe families are an essential part of the care process, and I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where caregivers feel heard, empowered, and confident as they help their kids grow.
- **What inspired you to become a coach or coach specialist?**

I became a coach because I know how meaningful it can be to have someone truly see you, listen to you, and remind you of your strengths. As a Black person, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and someone living with a physical disability, I understand that people’s experiences and challenges can be deeply personal. Those experiences have helped me develop empathy and a genuine appreciation for meeting people where they are. I love helping individuals and families recognize their strengths, build confidence, and discover that meaningful change is possible.
- **What are your strengths when it comes to working with kids and families?**

My biggest strengths are building genuine connections, listening without judgment, and meeting kids and families where they are. I’m patient, empathetic, and able to make coaching feel approachable and engaging for kids while still giving caregivers practical tools they can use at home. I’m also good at turning challenges into manageable, realistic goals and celebrating the small wins along the way. Most importantly, I want kids to feel heard and understood and families to feel supported, empowered, and confident in their ability to create positive change.
- **What else would you like families to know about you?**

I’m a big believer that coaching doesn’t have to feel like “work.” Outside of coaching, I enjoy art, music, writing, puzzles, and all things pop culture — and I love bringing those interests into my sessions. Whether it’s turning a skill into a game, using a favorite character to explore emotions, or getting creative with activities, I look for ways to make coaching engaging and relatable. I want families to know that I’ll bring curiosity, creativity, and a little fun to every session while still keeping the focus on meaningful growth.
